Position Summary:

The Manager, Digital Rights & Distribution is responsible for supporting the senior manager in the day-to-day of the team management and the distribution of releases to digital streaming platforms and any additional services related to digital distribution. Effective time management, communication, collaboration and problem solving skills are key to success in this role.

Role Responsibilities:

Team Management

● Attend/lead weekly team meetings to understand team responsibilities, ad hoc projects and any issues

● Learn, understand and engage in all Distro processes to understand each team members role

● Help senior manager to identify any process issues and help resolve them

● Help senior manager to identify any resourcing issues and help resolve them

● Be available to senior coordinator and coordinators when questions or issues arise

● Be point of contact for team members and cover any responsibilities when senior manager is on leave

● Use 3rd party software (15five, rippling, gmelius, etc.) to help organize team management

Digital Distribution

● Collaborate with the Content Team to ensure that all audio and video assets are in place within the supply chain and prepared for delivery to Digital Service Providers (DSPs)

● Review and approve label copies before assets are delivered taking meticulous care that contributors are appropriately tagged and titles, genres and all other metadata follow DSP guidelines

● Deliver content from our internal rights management system to the distribution platform

● Execute deliveries to over 100 Digital Service Providers like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, for audio and video content

● Attend a weekly production meeting & marketing meeting as well as any planning meetings

● Provide advance links as required for pitching

● Monitor iTunes tickets and failed deliveries to Apple and resolve in a timely manner

● Monitor digital products through the Supply Chain to ensure complete deliveries to Commercial Partners and trouble shoot as needed before and after the intended Release Date

● Execute content takedowns, price revisions, metadata updates, etc. as instructed by internal teams

● Maintain a video archive (video masters & web files)

● Build relationships with DSP and service providers to understand DSP needs to allow the

● Distro team to develop and grow accordingly

Additional tasks and responsibilities

● Assist Digital Rights Coordinator with daily YouTube CMS and other fingerprinting service tasks

● Assist with DSP Video delivery

● Deliver lyrics via provider Musixmatch

● Participate in process improvement initiatives & company committees

● Create and Provide educational leaflets and talks to other departments

● Ad-hoc projects supporting the digital distribution department and senior manager

Applicant Requirements:

● Exceptional attention to detail

● At least 3 years experience working in digital audio/visual distribution

● At least 3 years of management experience (individual team or project based)

At least 3 year experience in an office environment

● Excellent organizational skills – demonstrated ability to prioritize high volume workloads

● Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

● Strong communication skills

● Positive, enthusiastic and collaborative attitude

Nice to have:

● Experience with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Office

● Proficient in using Excel to manipulate data

● Tech-savvy

● Experience with YouTube CMS and other DSPs management systems

● Excellent DSP style guide knowledge

● Knowledge of music sync licensing
